Sofia, 17.09.2009

On September 17th in Kempinski Hotel Zografski, Sofia, NRA and Musala Soft specialists presented the new Information system for investigation of tax frauds, which has recently become operational in the National Revenue Agency (NRA). The presentation was part of the International Conference for Business Intelligence Systems, organized by IDC Bulgaria.

The new intelligent software for fraud detection in NRA is fully developed by the Bulgarian software company Musala Soft, which has vast expertise in building Business Intelligence solutions, processing of large volumes of data and system integration.

Ivan Denkov, Technical lead of the project at Musala Soft, emphasized in the presentation on the technical aspect of the solution, based on Oracle 11g database and Oracle Business Intelligence Suite, and talked about the specifics in implementing a BI solution itself. There was a particular stress on some build-ups of the systems, which are covering the requirements for dynamic profiling and identification of VAT fraud schemes.

The software for electronic inspections is of great importance for the state administration. It will ease the process and analysis of large amounts of information - obligation declarations, social security payments, registration of labor agreements, etc., which are received in both NRA and National Social Security Institute systems.

Musala Soft is Oracle partner since 2003 and possesses deep expertise in wide spectrum of Oracle technologies. The project "Delivery of software for electronic inspections and tax fraud detection" in NRA is taking part in the IT Project 2009 annual competition, organized by Computerworld Bulgaria. Three years ago, in 2006, another BI solution, developed by Musala Soft for the needs of marketing and sales department of OMV petrol stations in the country, won the prestigious award of Computerworld Bulgaria.
