Musala Soft supports the National Olympiad of Informatics
(българска версия)
Ruse, 1-3.05.2009
The third round of the National Olympiad of Informatics was held in Ruse, 1st -3rd May. As every year two of the days were competitive (Saturday and Sunday) and the participants had to solve three problems each day.
The third round of the National Olympiad is determinative for the national team, which will present our country at the International Olympiad of Informatics. According to the rules of the International Olympiad, using Linux operating systems is obligatory. The option for the contestants was to use Live CDs which would have delayed their work and worsen their results. Musala Soft contributed to the flawless realization of the contest by providing USBs to the participants. By having the 1GB USBs of Infoman [http://infoman.musala.com/], contestants' work was normal as USB use is quite close to the real installation of Linux. In addition, members of a special group within Musala Soft - CSLab, dedicated to supporting contests and competitions of Informatics, took part in the preparation and realization of the Olympiad.
In 2009, the International Olympiad of Informatics will be held in Plovdiv after 20 years of pilgrimage all over the world since its first edition back in 1989 in Pravetz. In mentioned regard, Bulgaria has the right of participating with two official teams. In a number of upcoming competitions the best 8 contestants will be selected as national representatives.
