End of the 13th edition of the national private programming contest, organized by Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria

The 13th edition of the most elite national private programming contest, organized by Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria ended on May 9th 2008. This year's final round was under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria - Mr. Georgi Parvanov.
Programmers from all parts of the country, with no limitation of age or profession took part in the sixth non-present round, but only the first 12 with the best scores, qualified for the final round of the competition. For a fourth consecutive time host of the competition was the Bulgarian-Korean Internet Center in Sofia.
This year's winner was Alexander Georgiev. He won IPOD Touch, provided by the State Agency for Information Technology and Communications (SAITC), and also a cell phone from Mobiltel. Second place - Rumen Hristov took 19' LCD Monitor from Fujitsu Siemens and also a wireless router from Comel Soft. The third prize winner was Ivaylo Boiadzhiev, who was awarded a 17' LCD Monitor by CNsys and a Laptop bag by Amperel. The other contesters received many exquisite awards, granted by the sponsors Asbis, Lexmark, Logitech, Microsoft, NET IS and honorary diplomas given by the organizers.
The award ceremony and press conference were held early in the afternoon in the Bulgarian News Agency's Press Club. Among the special guests and speakers were Tervel Niagolov, chief editor of PC Magazine Bulgaria; Emil Iliev from the Presidency, who read a welcoming speech from Mr. Georgi Parvanov; Boyko Lechev - chief expert in SAITC; Ognian Kiriakov - CEO of Microsoft Bulgaria; Elena Marinova - President of Musala Soft and professor Krasimir Manev from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University, trainer for many years of the Bulgarian national teams of Informatics and honorable jury of the programming contest.
Elena Marinova greeted all the competitors in the final round and revealed in a very intriguing way her observations of the rapidly changing world of technologies development. She wished the contestants not to slow down their rhythm and not to lose their inspiration for becoming even better.
