Musala Soft took part in the most significant business IT exhibition in Germany – Systems 2003. At tens of meeting with German, Austrian and Swiss companies the opportunities for cooperation in software development were discussed.

Among the emphases of the fair was the specially established Central and Eastern European Area where companies from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, and the Czech Republic were present with national booths. According to the organizers, one of the aims of the exhibition is to open the doors of the German market for cooperation with CEE businesses.

Other focus areas included Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, IT Security, Storage Solutions, Financial and Innovation areas. Within the fair the Internet World e-business exhibition took place.

Major exhibitors were Microsoft, IBM, SAP, Datev, etc. Dominating was also the presence of the provinces Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg, traditional rivals on the German IT market.

Together with large corporations, a major target group of this year’s fair were medium-sized enterprises. Exhibitors offered software solutions specially tailored to their needs. According to the organizers, this was one of the reasons for the increased visitors’ interest this year.

The exhibition was visited by a total of 74,000, which is a 1,000 increase compared to the previous year. In accordance with that are exhibitors’ expectations. 64 per cent of them think that the industry will soon be witnessing an upward trend. This is confirmed also by a report by Gartner, the world’s leading technology research and consulting company. According to it a substantial upheaval of the ICT market is expected in 2004. "An increasing number of IT managers plan to implement new technologies that increase efficiency and take advantage of the opportunities created by open source software and wireless communication. Cutting costs will still be important, but stimulating growth will become the highest priority for decision makers".

Musala Soft was among the three Bulgarian companies that took part in the meetings of the Bulgarian vice-minister of economy Mr. Radoslav Bozadjiev with leading software corporations. Mr. Bozadjiev had discussions with the management of BITKOM, Germany’s most influential IT association.

Among the interesting visitors of the Bulgarian booth were Bulgarian computer science students from the Technical university in Munich, who were interested in the opportunities for professional realization in Bulgaria. Thus, apart from the satisfaction from the business talks with German-speaking visitors, the representatives of Musala Soft returned with the hope that among the new recruits of the company there may also be Bulgarians who graduated in IT abroad.

Systems (www.systems.de) is a leading exhibition for information technologies, telecommunications and new media, which is held annually in Munich, Germany. By its nature it is a platform for contacts between representatives of medium-sized and large companies. The fair is oriented towards business customers, who represent 99 per cent of all visitors.
