A number of our employees were and continue to be involved in national and international Informatics competitions. We have seen how they have grown as professionals through these competitions, challenging themselves and others in finding solutions to difficult problems. As a result, Musala Soft has invested in a variety of programs designed to promote the study of Informatics, the growth of young people and the development of a strong Bulgarian presence in the international Informatics society.

IT Leaders Academy (fmisociety.org/ITLeadersAcademy)

IT Leaders Academy is a joint initiative of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI) at Sofia University and Musala Soft , supported by "FMI Society" foundation. The Academy is series of practical, business and science oriented lectures and discussions held by leading IT experts from Bulgarian and multinational companies. The Academy gives the FMI students the opportunity to hear the secrets of IT from those who create its future. The vision about the present and future of IT is shared by its very own creators, evangelists, pioneers and leading analyzers. The acquired knowledge gives additional advantage to the attendees in making successful business or scientific carrier.

Musala Soft and PC Magazine Bulgaria Contest (konkurs.musala.com)

Since the year of 2000, Musala Soft is the author and sponsor of the annual competition in informatics – more detailed information about the programming contest is published every month, between October and March, in the Bulgarian edition of PC Magazine Bulgaria. In 2011, the programming contest marked its 16th edition. The competition is open for everyone and it runs annually in six rounds and one final – present round, which gathers the 9th best presented participants during the year and the next 3 in the classification, which have not participated in the final round in last three years. Each competition round represents resolution of a problem from an algorithmic or applied-science nature which is afterwards prepared, tested and evaluated by a specially formed team in Musala Soft - cslab (computer science laboratory), consisting of former and current Olympians from international competitions and Olympiads in Informatics. Honorary Chairman of the jury is Prof. Krasimir Manev - Head of Department of Computing Systems at Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, University of Sofia.

InfoMan (infoman.musala.com)

InfoMan is the online source for Informatics maniacs. The online magazine hosts a community of individuals interested in pursuing Informatics, promoting the free exchange of ideas, past experience and articles written by its readers.
Infoman is part of Musala Soft initiative towards support and development of young Bulgarian talents in the field of programming.

Team Sponsorship

Musala Soft supports Bulgarian National Teams in Informatics and Mathematics in their preparation and participation at Balkan and International Olympiads.

Sponsorship of the National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC)

Musala Soft sponsors the biggest student competition in Informatics in Bulgaria, which is held in May each year. Purpose of the National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC) is to enable the best students from Bulgarian universities, supporting programs in informatics, to communicate with each other and to take advantage of the competition environment to verify the quality of their training and their capabilities to deal with tangled programming tasks. In 2009, the host of the programming contest was University of Economics - Varna.

Musala Soft is an active member of the Bulgarian Association of Software Companies (www.basscom.org), Bulgarian Association for Information Technologies (www.bait.bg), Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (www.bcci.bg) and since April 2009, is an associate member of the Confederation of the Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (www.ceibg.bg).

Balkan Olympiad in Informatics BOI 2004 (http://boi2004.musala.com)

Musala Soft sponsored the preparation of the Balkan Olympiad in Informatics in 2004. BOI is annual competition for secondary school students from the Balkan Peninsula countries, and each year the host is one of the Balkan countries, chosen on the principle of rotation. In its 12th edition in July 2004, the Olympiad was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Book Publishing

Musala Soft publishes a series of books on Informatics, written by some of the top experts in algorithm research.
